So on our first day in Seattle, we go to Pike Place Market, which would really be fun if not for the fact that E is in the throes of teething. And for some reason, it's particularly bad this time even though it's only one tooth. Maybe it's the being in a completely new place that has completely thrown her off. So she cries and fusses ALL THE TIME. She insists on me carrying her all the time, and I have to be standing and walking around! This was definitely a first for her; she'd never been this difficult before.
But we try to take in the sights are Pike Place Market anyway. There's great seafood out for sale, and beautiful fresh produce. Everything looked so good. There are lots of interesting shops too, and we found Pike Place Chowder, which had the best clam chowder and seafood bisque we've ever had. Very yum.
J saw his first real totem pole, which he's only seen before on Little Einsteins on TV. Here they are playing ring-a-ring-roses in the shadow of the totem pole.
We got E her first necklace at a toy shop at Pike Place Market too. She LOVES it. She wore it all the time, and even insisted on sleeping with it the first couple of nights. I could only get it off once she was soundly asleep. Her first bling.
We brought the kids to the Seattle Aquarium. J had a great time there. He got to see an octopus, jellyfish, seals.... Obviously, he isn't holding real octopus tentacles below. And in the picture below, he's waiting for a glimpse of the seals.
